About me

Ukraine born and raised …… after that came the other countries ….

I’m an observer … and here is a little bit of how I saw it all when I traveled. It kind of always happened sporadically. I also traveled for a long time, but it can be exhausting …. If you tend to start comparing places …. then maybe it is time to go home and continue at a later time … If you don’t know where is home, I’ll give you a hint – it’s where you share food with other people 🙂

The world is beautiful … to quit your job and pack a light backpack is never a bad idea and I did it a couple of times …. They say good things happen to people who book flights so I suggest why not get that ticket, and start an endless weekend! Once there, you will never be the same, no matter where born and raised!

Stereotypes? Superficiality? Not really working for me. I like to go everywhere and discover the reality of this and that place… observe… participate if I feel like… and tell them, tell them they are beautiful – most of the times we all are too carried away or preoccupied with trivialities to see the things which are the most important. Besides already favorite destinations where I would love to come back like Brazil, Madagascar and Oman, there are several countries I would really really really love to see, but my list is not an usual one. So it’s been a couple of good years since I’ve planned a trip to Yemen, and I hope there will be better days for this beautiful country and its people. Then there is Mozambique, Namibia, the remote taiga of Russia, Niger and remote China which shall happen at some point…. oh, and Raja Ampat… Roraima…Cape Verde ….etc.

I wish your dreams come true too. If they are made of journeys, you have chosen the right way 🙂

  1. Here’s a message from Türkiye to say “thank you”.

Blogging since June 2013, my little corner of the world tries to offer an eclectic smattering of posts, from basic amateur photography, to sharing my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day-to-day happenings here on our fruit farm in southern Turkey. I also throw in a few of my observations on life and lighter-hearted stuff for good measure.

You are more than welcome to have a look around, stay a while and have a trawl through my collection. There are plenty of categories within the drop-down menus to help in said digging process. Of course, if you have any comments, suggestions or concerns, feel free to let me know – I’m not easily offended 🙂

Hope you have a great day…

  5. What a lovely introduction to yourself! I’m getting to know Ukraine, and applaud your approach to your life. I also love Africa–a huge mini-world of many cultures. With a noble and not-so-noble past, including all the carving up and political deals that left long shadows. When I read about it or visit, I learn more about myself and the past. I hope you find what you’re looking for in your journeys–internal and external!

Hey, Elouise, what have you visited in Ukraine? I’m from the south-west, closer to the border with Romania! There is a very pretty town called Chernivtsi. If you ever have a chance to visit it, you will love it! A bit out of the way, but definitely worth deviating from the usual touristic routes!

  7. Hiiii

Looks like you are enjoying traveling as much as me…who knows if one day we can cross our paths and share an adventure together.

My blog isn’t updated yet, because didn’t have really much time nor inspiration to write about my last awesome trips through Asia, including your (in the bucket list) Mongolia and China…but i’ll do it soon. As you see, I’m a lazy spanish guy… mañana mañana 🙂
